Whiteboard Rig Builder

I created Whiteboard Rig Builder while working on a series of five whiteboard-style animations. I needed a more reliable and efficient way to handle revisions without sacrificing creative control.
Whiteboard Rig Builder started with a very specific production challenge.
I was working on a series of five whiteboard-style animations that involved several stages of review, feedback, and approval.
Designing and animating the drawings was only part of the challenge. I also needed a workflow that would let me make changes to the timing, drawing order, or individual elements without having to rebuild large parts of the animation every time.
That's what led me to start developing my own tool for After Effects.
The idea was simple: automate the repetitive work involved in setting up whiteboard animations, while keeping the flexibility to make creative decisions and adjustments throughout the process. I didn't want a preset that would dictate how things should animate. I wanted something that would make the production process easier to manage.
That initial solution eventually grew into Whiteboard Rig Builder. I continued developing it, refining the workflow, designing the interface, and turning it into a tool that other animators could use in their own projects.
In August 2026, I released it commercially through aescripts.
